I lead digital experience, build high-performing teams and connect customer needs to commercial growth.
I’m a senior digital and experience leader with 18+ years’ experience shaping customer experiences, digital products and multidisciplinary teams.
I’ve built my career around connecting customer insight, design, product and commercial strategy. I care about creating experiences that are genuinely better for customers, but equally about proving that the work makes a difference through conversion, engagement, loyalty, efficiency and long-term business value.
At Selfridges, I spent almost a decade helping evolve the organisation’s digital experience capability, growing UX from a team of three into a multidisciplinary function of more than 20 across UX, Research, Digital Design and Content. I introduced stronger research and experimentation capability, helped shape new product and agile ways of working, and worked across Product, Technology, Creative, Marketing and Commercial teams.
Today, I lead Experience Design across JoyBuy’s European business, working across London and Beijing. My focus is on strengthening customer voice, raising design quality and connecting experience decisions more directly to measurable commercial outcomes.
Alongside employed roles, I founded POW XD, an independent digital product and growth studio. This has kept me close to founders, new ventures and the practical realities of turning ideas into propositions, products and businesses.
My leadership style is collaborative, curious and outcome-focused. I like giving people clarity and autonomy, building the systems that help teams perform, and staying close enough to customers and the work to keep challenging where we can do better.
Digital and experience leader focused on creating exceptional customer experiences that drive engagement, loyalty and measurable commercial growth.
The strongest measure of leadership is often the impact you have on the people and teams around you.
Jamie is a formidable UX & Product Design leader.
I'd the privilege of working with Jamie over the last 4 years and saw him develop and grow into a key member of my senior team.
Jamie's ability to spot the right things for the customer, lead his team to enact that vision and importantly forge strong relationships across a complex business and at Exec level in order to influence and deliver was phenomenal.
Jamie was also instrumental in helping shape the transformation strategy, creating the right operating model for our goals and building fantastic UX, Research, Design & Content functions to deliver fundamental changes in the overall customer experience at Selfridges.
Finally, Jamie is also a warm and kind leader, loved by his team and his peers and always a pleasure to be around. He understands the important balance between creativity, innovation and business outcomes, ensuring product development was always focused on delivering value to end users and enterprise.
Jamie is one of the most dedicated UX professionals I have ever met. It's been an absolute pleasure to work with and learn from him over the past 4 years.
His passion for Selfridges, UX, user centred design, and most importantly, for putting the customer first, has been inspirational in my journey at Selfridges.
Jamie is an extremely supportive manager and his knowledge, experience and attitudes were instrumental in helping us establish the user experience research function and grow and develop our team.
He's extremely well liked and is fantastic at building relationships with people at all levels to get the job done. His middle name should be adaptability because of his test and learn approach to everything - from getting customer feedback to shaping the team.
I owe a lot to Jamie for helping shape me into the researcher I'm today. I highly recommend him and hope very much our paths cross again in the future.
I'd the pleasure of working with Jamie on numerous projects during my time at Selfridges. He gave me full autonomy, challenged me and trusted my decisions.
I learnt a lot from Jamie, he is super passionate about design, and making the right decisions for the business. He is also a brilliant manager, ensuring the team are always happy and laughing.
Any employee would be lucky to have Jamie as their manager!
